The two communities have scheduled their parades for consecutive days so you can save all your hard work and enter your float in both!

The Central Aroostook County area is fortunate to have Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus staying in the area for two days. I guess they really like us to spend that much time in our area.

Santa’s Sleigh will be collecting presents on Saturday, December 2 during the Presque Isle Holiday Light Parade. As hard working as Santa and the elves are, there is still a need for some help to make certain children everywhere receive Christmas presents.

The Presque Isle Holiday Light Parade, sponsored by Emera Maine, lines up at University of Maine at Presque Isle and steps off at 6:00pm. Judging will take place along the route. The Aroostook Medical Center will be serving hot drinks and snacks at North Street Healthcare. Trophies will be presented to the winners there, so please join us for a few minutes to celebrate the winners. Unfortunately, Mr. & Mrs. Santa have to take the gifts to safe storage, so can’t join us at North Street in Presque Isle.

The Limestone Holiday Light Parade Line-up will begin at 5:00 pm @ the LCS/MSSM Parking Lot. Judging begins at 5:30 pm. The route will commence from LCS/MSSM, down FFA Avenue, left on Main Street, left on Access Highway, left on High Street and back to the school. Mr. & Mrs. Santa will have a little time to chat with people after the Limestone Holiday Light Parade.

The requirements are similar for both. Santa will be in both parades so we don’t want any impersonators and candy must be handed out. We do not want anyone running to the street and possibly getting stepped on or run over.

Please join us for one or both of these exciting parades! Get out to see your neighbors and friends, enjoy the spirit of giving and all the fun of the season.

We hope to see you in the parades or cheering for your favorite float.
