
Three Arrested after Drugs Seized During Traffic Stop in Maine
Three people were arrested Saturday after drugs were seized during a traffic stop in Skowhegan.
Vehicle Stopped and Drugs Seized
The vehicle was pulled over around 9 pm for not having a registration plate and a loud exhaust.
No One had a Valid Drier’s License
The Skowhegan Police Department said the driver and no one else in the vehicle had a valid driver's license.
K-9 Did a Free Air Sniff of the Vehicle and People
K-9 Reese and his handler Sgt. Joshua York responded to the scene and did a free air sniff of the occupants and the vehicle.
K-9 Indicted on Person in Vehicle
K-9 Reese indicated on 30-year-old Sadie Macdonald from Fairfield.
Drugs Seized During Search
The vehicle and occupants were searched and police seized 91.83 grams of fentanyl, 27.37 grams of cocaine and 54.06 grams of a cutting substance.

Charged with Aggravated Drug Trafficking
Macdonald was arrested and charged with aggravated drug trafficking (fentanyl and unlawful drug possession (cocaine).
Second Person Charged with Aggravated Drug Trafficking
Also arrested was 51-year-old Louis Lopez who was charged with aggravated drug trafficking (fentanyl), unlawful drug trafficking (cocaine) and unsworn falsification.

Driver Charged with for Operating with a Suspended License
The driver, 38-year-old Michael Griffin from Farmingdale, was also taken into custody and charged with operating after license suspended, failure to provide proof of insurance, and operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection sticker.

Three People Taken to County Jail and Booked
All three were transported to the Somerset County Jail and booked. The investigation is ongoing.
