The Green Bean Ski Club was a recent recipient of the generosity of the Acadia Federal Credit Union.

The financial institution recently donated $500 to help purchase new helmets for Fort Kent’s Lonesome Pine Trails ski rental shop.

Lonesome Pines resort manager Mike Voisine reached out to Acadia in hopes of obtaining sponsorship for the new helmets. Several helmets were in need of replacing going into this season, plus more helmets were needed to stock the ski rental shop's inventory. Voisine is greatly appreciative of the generous donation from Acadia FCU. “We have never had new helmets before. For the last 20-plus years, helmets have been hand-me-downs, with a few that were donated to us. We will finally be fully-stocked and able to offer an extra measure of safety with new helmets for skiers and snowboarders.”

The credit union's marketing manager, Alison Voisine, said it felt good to help Lonesome Pines with the equipment to offer ski and snowboard equipment to anyone who is interested in hitting the slopes.
