Aaron Lee Tasjan has shared a music video for his song “Till the Town Goes Dark.” Readers can press play above to watch.

“Till the Town Goes Dark” is Tasjan’s newest single; it appears on his Silver Tears album, released in 2016. Tasjan doesn’t take himself too seriously in the vintage-inspired clip, which features bizarre footage that occasionally veers into supernatural territory, including shots of Tasjan playing a guitar that’s seemingly powered by lightning.

According to Tasjan, "Till the Town Goes Dark" was written alongside his drummer Frank Lenz and started during a drive around Huntington Beach, Calif.

“He said the opening line, 'All we got were TVs in our pockets after being promised rocket ships and flying cars,'" Tasjan recalls to Uproxx. “When we got back to his apartment, I went in the bedroom and wrote the rest of it looking out of his bedroom window.”

Since releasing Silver Tears to extensive praise in October 2016, Tasjan has spent most of his time out on the road, touring with Sheryl Crow, Lucinda Williams, and Shovels & Rope, along with making appearances at Bonnaroo and Stagecoach. Earlier this year, Tasjan was nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year by the Americana Music Association; he will find out whether or not he takes home the honor at the organization’s 2017 Honors & Awards ceremony, which will be held at the Ryman Auditorium on Sept. 13.
