A 45-year-old woman died Saturday after she was hit by a minivan while crossing a road in Palmyra.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office said Heather Corey from Palmyra was hit when she was crossing Route 2 from the Walmart parking lot toward the Dollar General.
80-Year-Old Woman Driving Minivan
An 80-year-old woman was driving the Dodge Grand Caravan. She was not injured. Her name was not released. The incident happened around 7:35 pm on Saturday night.
Pronounced Dead at the Hospital
Corey was transported to the Sebasticook Valley Hospital and pronounced dead, said WGME News.
Alcohol and Speed do not Appear to be Factors
Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, said the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation remains open.
