
3-Year-Old Child Found Dead Outside Family Home in Maine
A three-year-old was found dead outside in the snow at a residence on Exeter Road in Corinna on Sunday morning.
Missing Three-Year-Old Found Dead
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said the child’s aunt called police around 8:28 am to report her three-year-old nephew was missing.
Child’s Body Found in Snow
The child was “later found by his father, a distance from the family residence, outside in the snow,” said Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.
Exposure to the Elements
“Regretfully, the male child succumbed to injuries which appear to be consistent with exposure to the elements,” said Moss.
Under Investigation
The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit North was investigating the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
Cause of Death
His body was taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause and manner of death.
Isolated Incident
The Maine State Police believe “this is an isolated incident and there is no public safety concerns.”
