A 20-year-old woman was sentenced to 20 years in prison for Manslaughter after her boyfriend’s death in April.

Olivia Babin from Bangor was charged with shooting and killing Daniel Ford Coates.
Sentenced to 20 Years with 10 Years Suspended
Babin was sentenced to 20 years with all but 10 years suspended. She will be behind bars for 10 years. Babin will also have six years of probation.
Changed Plea to Guilty
Babin had pleaded not guilty and changed her plea to guilty on Monday.
Held Gun to Boyfriends Head
Babin was accused of taking Coates’ handgun without the magazine from his bedroom to scare two people. Prosecutors said she held the gun to his head as a joke and pulled the trigger, said WGME News.
Threw Gun in Stream Before Calling 911
She allegedly threw the gun in a stream and changed clothes before calling police.
