The West District RCMP is asking for the public's assistance after someone caused major damage to a government vehicle in Bedell, near Woodstock.

Sometime between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, an attempt was made to "hot-wire" a truck belonging to the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure at its facility in Bedell. Constable Jonathan Lirette of the Woodstock Detachment said the truck was left on scene but was severely damaged as a result of the tampering.
