Two Men Accused of Stealing 14 Firearms from Waterville Pawn Shop

Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of firearms from JR's Trading Post and Pawn in Waterville.

Who Was Arrested?

The two men who have been charged in connection with this case are:

• Damiean Marcial-Alexander, 20, of Waterville, Maine and Springfield, Massachusetts
• Ryan Ansart, 21, of Springfield, Massachusetts

Both men are charged with theft of firearms from a licensed firearms dealer.

How Were The Firearms Stolen?

The two intruders in this case were seen on surveillance video smashing a pane of glass on April 10th, 2022 and entering the Elm Street store illegally. They could be seen breaking a glass display case with a hammer and stealing 14 handguns. Two photos from that video were released by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), in hopes that someone would recognize them.

Wasn't There a Reward Offered in This Case?

In May of 2022, the ATF and the National Shooting Sports Foundation announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the persons responsible for the thefts. $2,500 of the reward provided by the ATF was matched by the NSSF, which is the trade association for the firearms industry. The NSSF is part of a larger national cooperative initiative to offer rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers. There's no indication that the arrests resulted in anyone receiving that reward.

Waterville Police worked in conjunction with the ATF and the Springfield, Massachusetts Police Department to investigate this theft and take the two suspects into custody.
