Thousands of Mourners Attend Detective Ben Campbell’s Service

Law enforcement from all over Maine & Canada paid their respects and celebrated Det. Ben Campbell’s life Tuesday at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.

Over three thousand people gathered to remember 31-year-old Campbell as a man with a friendly smile who gave his service for others.

His wife Hillary said to him at the service "I love you with every piece of my being." She said their 6-month-old son will be raised to know how selfless his dad was.

Det. Campbell was on his way to police training when he stopped to assist a motorist on I-95, April 3^rd. A tire that dislodged from a logging truck struck him as he was on the side of the road.
