The County Federal Credit Union Warns Public of Scam

Scam Alert

Thanks to the County Federal Credit Union for warning people of a scam in the area. 

They posted the alert on their Facebook, advising the public about what to do (and what not to do) if you receive a postcard in the mail like the one below.

Red Flags

The first thing is to not respond to something like this. They said there is no indication the postcard is from the County Federal Credit Union. Also, don’t call the phone number on the card. If you are not sure if it’s a scam, reach out to the Member Service Center at 1-877-318-3838. A quick verification can protect you and your information.

The Fine Print

There are additional red flags. Pay close attention to the fine print. The information on this postcard says “All information provided by H.W.C not affiliated with, sponsored by and loan information not provided by County FCU."

Personal Information

Also, your personal information such as a Mortgage ID# would not be displayed on a postcard like this.

Again, look closely at the phone number and contact information. The County Federal Credit Union's Member Services number 1-877-318-3838. The number on the card does not match.
