October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we have some resources here. Plus, pictures from the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office of the memorial ribbons for victims of domestic violence homicides in the County.

The Maine Department of Health and Human Services says there have been 49,400 domestic violence reports in Maine since October, 2007 (about 1 every 96 minutes).

There are resources to help. The Hope and Justice Project just had an event in Houlton, Light It Up Houlton! to aid victims. We also have an article on the Houlton Band of Maliseets receiving funding to help end abuse.
