Blame it on the weather.  It has not been kind to sunflowers, at least these sunflowers. And as a result, Sunflower Maze at Country Junction Greenhouse and Gardens in Bradford will not open this summer.

Of course, they are sad about that announcement, but they expressed on their Facebook page that there just aren’t enough Sunflowers.

The short season for sunflowers runs from mid-August until mid-September.

What they do have will be for sale out front at their farm stand. Cut sunflowers are great. But it’s not a maze.

Sunflowers are so popular that there was a story from England in the news about people stopping in front of a sunflower farm and taking nude selfies.  Hmmm. Wonder if there is a picture of that?

They are amazing. Sunflowers are great, especially in a massive field. Although eating sunflower seeds can become quite addicting.

This is the only Sunflower Maze I know about in Maine, so I  guess we will always have photos to flip through.

And the anticipation of corn mazes coming to a farming community near you. But that’s about a month from now. Better luck next summer with the Sunflower Maze at Country Junction.
