State Police Investigate Fatal Shooting In Swanville

State Police say a man was shot and killed in Swanville early Friday morning.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the shooting happened at around 4:45 a.m. on Oak Hill Road, near the Belfast city line.

Austin McDevitt, 22, of Morrill has been charged with murder, according to WABI.

He is accused of the shooting death of Shane Sauer, 26, of Belfast.

Police aren't commenting on the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The incident is being investigated by State Police and by Waldo County Sheriff's Deputies.
