Cross Lake Man Charged After Hitting Utility Pole [PHOTO]
UPDATE:
A 49-year-old Cross Lake man called the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office to report he had struck a utility Saturday night on Cyr Road in Cross Lake.
Officials said Eric Davenport indicated he was not aware of the damage to the pole until the following day.
Davenport was westbound on the Cyr Road in Cross Lake in his 2019 GMC Sierra pickup when he lost control and struck the utility pol, according to the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office .
He was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage crash. He is due to appear in Fort Kent District Court on December 2.
ORIGINAL STORY:
A motor vehicle crashed on Cyr Road in Cross Lake Saturday night around 11 pm, breaking a utility pole completely off.
The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle was nowhere to be found when Deputy Michael DeLena arrived on the scene. The pole was lying in the roadway.
Officials said due to the debris at the scene, the vehicle is believed to be black with front end damage.
