Burger Chain With 2 Locations in Maine Announces Closings
This popular, family-friendly burger restaurant, which has a couple of locations here in Maine, has announced nationwide closings!

It’s never a good sign when a restaurant chain announces nationwide closings, especially when it’s one of your favorites. And this one is definitely a staple in this particular region of Maine, making the news even harder to swallow!
So, given that, which popular burger chain with locations in Maine has announced closures across the country?
Red Robin is considering closing around 70 underperforming locations as it works to pay off debt. In 2024, the company reported $1.25 billion in revenue, which was $54.5 million less than in 2023.
Red Robin plans to close most of its underperforming locations over the next five years as their leases expire.
In 2025, the company expects to shut down 10 to 15 restaurants. Despite lower-than-expected financial results in 2024, Red Robin's CEO believes improvements to the guest experience will help the brand reach its full potential.
While Red Robin only closed one location last year due to a lease expiring, it is now reviewing options for many more struggling restaurants.
At the moment, we don’t know what will happen with our Maine locations, but as soon as we do, we’ll keep you posted!
There you have it! Red Robin, which has locations in Augusta and Scarborough, has announced plans to close several of its restaurants.
