The Boston Red Sox affiliate has announced its latest promotion, giving away bobbleheads of the Newport native.

Promotions at live sports events are always fun, but this one stands out because it’s truly celebrating and championing a Mainer.

The Portland Sea Dogs will celebrate Maine’s Cooper Flagg with a special bobblehead giveaway on Wednesday, August 12th, at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field.

This giveaway will take place during their game against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Presented by Northeast Delta Dental as part of the team’s Notable Mainers series, the first 1,000 fans will receive a limited-edition bobblehead honoring one of the country’s top young sports stars.

The bobblehead will feature Flagg in his Maine United uniform, highlighting his rise from Nokomis Regional High School and Montverde Academy to national prominence.

He was later selected first overall in the NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks and went on to earn Rookie of the Year honors for his class.

The Notable Mainers series has become a fan-favorite tradition at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field, honoring influential figures with strong ties to Maine.

Other notable Mainers who have been included in this series include Margaret Chase Smith, Tom Caron, Joan Benoit Samuelson, Patrick Dempsey, Chris Cassidy, and MacKenzie Holmes. Gates open at 4:30 PM for the August 12th game, and fans are encouraged to arrive early for the bobblehead giveaway, with tickets available now by calling 207-879-9500 or visiting seadogs.com.
