Who doesn't love some good, old-fashioned smack talk?

Whether it's professional athletes, or musicians, or even just sibling rivalry, everyone loves some solid crap-talk. It was awesome back in the day, when Muhammed Ali would just openly insult his opponents. Or even Larry Bird. His smack talk was absolutely legendary. When it's done well and you have the facts to back it up, it's unreal.

But that's just the thing... If you start slinging the mud but you don't really know what you're talking about and assume (because you know what happens when you assume) you won't be called out on it, you're setting yourself up for a pretty hard fall. You'll be Humpty Dumpty'd right onto the ground and have egg all over your face.

We were here first Oregon. You’re not even a port.

While it is true that Portland, Oregon is not right on the ocean, they are a major river port, as they're located where the Columbia and Willamette Rivers meet. Large cargo ships are constantly in and out of the area. So for us to call them out for not being a port? That's just a bit ridiculous, right? Especially when you're just straight-up wrong.

Again, I'm 100% all for a little healthy competition. It's not like we can even compare to a city that's about 5 times larger than ours? I'd certainly argue we're at least as cool in every way. But maybe our Portland should think before it speaks. Remember, we live in the days of the internet and when you run your mouth, you get called out...

Man, this place looks sweet. I want to go to there...
