Four People Were Shot in Portland Tuesday Night, Now 1 Has Died
A shooting Investigation in Portland now includes a charge of homicide after one of the victims passed away.
What Do We Know About the Deceased?
Susan McHugh, 54, of Gray died at Maine Medical, where she was being treated for a gunshot wound. An autopsy was performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner who ruled her death a homicide.

Where Did the Shooting Happen?
Portland Police responded to the 1110 block of Forest Avenue at approximately 8:45 Tuesday night for a report of a shooting. When they arrived they found four people with injuries who were all transported to Maine Medical Center. Residents were encouraged to shelter in place Tuesday night, but that recommendation has since been lifted.
The extent of the injuries was not released and none of the victims' names were revealed until McHugh succumbed to her injuries. Police are still not identifying the other victims of the incident.
No details have been released about the shooting, whether the police have a suspect, or what the motive may have been. There's no indication of whether the victims know each other or whether they may have known the shooter. Officials say they don't believe there's any threat to the public's safety.
