Popular Restaurant Chain Announces Opening in New England
It’s never a bad thing to have more food options available, and this popular chain is making its way to New England.
Who doesn’t love when new places open up? It’s exciting to experience all the stages—the anticipation, the rollout, and the aftermath—especially if you find a new favorite spot. Right now, for this particular place, we’re in the anticipation phase.
There’s already a long list of nationwide places to eat that are not in our neck of the woods, but soon, that list will get shorter.
When you think of New England, what’s the first genre of food that comes to mind? Seafood? Blueberry desserts? Desserts in general like whoopie pies? Well, this new place coming to New England isn’t any of those options, and what it is may actually surprise you.
So, what restaurant chain is expanding into New England?
According to Restaurant Magazine, District Taco, which the publication refers to as “an emerging leader in fast-casual Mexican dining,” is looking to bring their “Yucatán-style cuisine” to New England, with Boston as a key market for their expansion.
Chris Medhurst, President and Chief Operating Officer of District Taco, had the following to say about the expansion into New England:
We believe Boston has an ideal mix of business and student communities, and a vibrant, growing population. We’re looking forward to bringing District Taco to New England and building on the success we’ve seen in other regions.
District Taco, which currently has 17 locations in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C., is looking to expand with two upcoming openings in New Jersey and another location in Virginia planned for later this year.
District Taco plans to reach 150 total restaurants by 2030.
