New Sharon Man Suffers Serious Injuries Burning Trash

An elderly New Sharon man was flown to a hospital last evening after suffering serious injuries while burning trash in his yard. 

It happened at a residence on Gloria Road in New Sharon at around 5 pm. 

State Police say 85-year-old John Gill sustained burns to around 80% of his body after adding gasoline to an outside burn barrel. 

Gill was taken by Life Flight to Maine Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.
