The RCMP has charged a 31-year-old Moncton man in connection with a violent home invasion on Eaglewood Drive in Moncton last Friday and police are still trying to locate a second suspect.

On September 22, around 1:20 a.m., the Codiac RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion in the Oak subdivision, according to Sgt. Louis Robichaud.

Two people in the home were allegedly assaulted and threatened by two men armed with long barrel guns. The suspects fled with electronics and an undisclosed amount of money, Robichaud said. The homeowners were taken to hospital with minor injuries and released.

RCMP said Vincent Harland Mallory of Moncton was arrested on Friday. Mallory appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Monday where he was charged with nineteen charges related to the home invasion.

Charges include two counts each of : robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm, unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and disguise with intent. Also: sexual assault with use of a firearm, sexual assault, break and enter, possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon contrary to an order.

Mallory was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on October 16.
