Man Sentenced for Illegally Entering U.S. After Removal in Maine
A 37-year-old man has been sentenced for illegally entering the U.S. after a prior removal.
Sentenced after Guilty Plea
Samuel Par-Lopez from Guatemala was given time served, approximately 113 days, in U.S. District Court. He pleaded guilty on March 14, 2025.
Apprehended during Traffic Stop
Par-Lopez was taken into custody after a traffic stop in Wiscasset on February 7, 2025. The Wiscasset Police Department pulled him over for having snow on the roof of his vehicle that had not been cleared.
Prior Removal from U.S.
“Immigration records showed that he had previously been removed from the U.S. and did not have a visa or other documentation that would allow him to re-enter the country,” said the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Chief Investigators
The case was investigated by the U.S. Border Patrol and the Wiscasset Police Department.
