A 54-year-old woman was arrested and charged with Manslaughter after the death of a 4-month-old.

Lisa Barney of Oakland was taken into custody Friday following a years-long investigation into the infant’s death on September 8, 2023.

Maine State Police Major Crimes Central Detectives said the incident happened on August 31, 2023.
Death Ruled a Homicide
The death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy by the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta.
$100,000 Cash Bail
Barney was taken to the Kennebec County Jail with a cash bail set at $100,000.
