Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 109 calls for service in and around Aroostook County this past week. Here are the incidents featured in their weekly report:

Incident Type: PUBLIC RELATIONS Date: 10/15/2018 Town: BANGOR Trooper: SGT. HAINES Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Haines, along with Sgt. Clark and Tr. Levesque, conducted two days of ALICE student training in Madawaska, a parent training in Ashland and Sgt. Haines spoke at a training in Bangor for the Maine Association of Educational Professionals.

Incident Type: ACCIDENT - MULTI VEHICLE Date: 10/17/2018 Town: T7 R5 Trooper: CPL. QUINT Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint responded to a head-on collision involving a tractor trailer and a sedan. The driver of the sedan was trying to put his coffee cup in the cup holder and did not realize he crossed the centerline. An on-coming tractor trailer, loaded with asphalt, moved as far to the right as possible but could not avoid the collision. The sedan struck the trailer of the truck on the left side causing significant damage to the car. The truck sustained major damage to the trailer body and the wheels. Miraculously no one was injured in the crash. Sgt. Clark and Tr. Flynn (Troop K) assisted with the investigation.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 10/17/2018 Town: EAGLE LAKE Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier was flagged down by a motorist regarding another vehicle that was driving erratically. Tr. Desrosier stopped the suspect vehicle and during the course of the traffic stop he discovered the driver had a warrant for failing to appear in court for theft of a motor vehicle. The man was arrested and transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Incident Type: ILLEGAL ATTACHMENT Date: 10/17/2018 Town: FORT KENT Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier was conducting traffic enforcement in Fort Kent and observed a vehicle not displaying a valid state inspection certificate. The vehicle was stopped and it was discovered the driver had illegally attached registration plates to the vehicle. The man told Tr. Desrosier that he did not want to pay for the registration fees. The man was issued a criminal summons for illegal attachment of plates.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 10/17/2018 Town: ASHLAND Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque was attempting to arrest people with open warrants as part of the Domestic Violence Roundup. He located a man in Ashland that had an open warrant for his arrest. Before Tr. Levesque could secure the man in handcuffs he ran into the woods to avoid the arrest. Tr. Levesque chased the man on foot, caught him, and transported him to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Incident Type: ACCIDENT Date: 10/17/2018 Town: EAGLE LAKE Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier responded to a late report of a crash in Eagle Lake. It was reported that someone backed into another resident’s vehicle which was witnessed by other residents. Tr. Desrosier located the driver of the offending vehicle and after completing an investigation issued her two criminal summonses, one for failing to report a property damage crash and one for operating after suspension.

Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST Date: 10/17/2018 Town: BLAINE Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr Pescitelli attempted to locate a male subject who had several warrants for his arrest for domestic violence related crimes during the DV apprehension day. Tr Pescitelli and Tr Stoutamyer drove to a residence in Blaine and located the male hiding in a shed. Tr Pescitelli arrested the male and transported him to ACJ.

Incident Type: THEFT Date: 10/20/2018 Town: MARS HILL Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin charged a local man with theft when he failed to pay for gas he had pumped. The man had pumped the gas the prior day, but had not returned to pay as he had said he would. He had attempted to use 2 different cards that were declined.

Incident Type: BURGLARY Date: 10/19/2018 Town: BRIGEWATER Trooper: TR. CASAVANT Brief Synopsis: Tr. Casavant met with a homeowner in Bridgewater when she reported a daytime burglary at her home. The victim reported that during the day, someone had entered her home and stolen a video game console and games. The investigation is ongoing.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 10/21/2018 Town: LITTLETON Trooper: CPL. QUINT Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint was conducting traffic enforcement on US Highway 1, Littleton, when he observed a pickup with a defective registration plate light. Cpl. Quint stopped the vehicle and the driver immediately admitted he did not have a valid driver’s license and stated it was suspended. The man was issued a criminal summons for the violation and arranged to have a licensed driver come get him and his vehicle.
