Maine State Police Arrest Presque Isle Man & Fort Kent Man
Maine State Police served a search warrant Thursday in their investigation of a Presque Isle man wanted for outstanding warrants.
A team of Troopers and two agents from US Border Patrol executed the warrant at approximately 6:30 pm Thursday at 3553 Aroostook Road in Eagle Lake.
Trooper Matt Curtin obtained the warrant after receiving information that 39-year-old Joseph Malik Thompson was at the residence, said police.
Police located Joseph Malik Thompson at the address and and arrested. While inside the residence, police also located 20-year old Joshua Bernier of Fort Kent and arrested him on two outstanding warrants.
Joseph Malik Thompson was transported to the Aroostook County Jail. Joshua Bernier was transported to Fort Kent Police Department where he posted bail. Both men are due to appear in court in May.
Police said Joseph Malik Thompson's outstanding warrant was for Domestic Violence Assault, stemming from an incident that occurred in Presque Isle in March, 2019. In addition, officials said there were outstanding warrants for both men for failure to appear on charges including Unlawful Possession of a Scheduled Drug.
Trooper Curtin was assisted with his investigation by other members of the State Police, US Border Patrol, and the Fort Kent Police Department.
