Maine Police Say Skeletal Remains Were Found in Gorham
Maine Police say skeletal remains were found in Gorham on Tuesday.
The Remains Were Found By Utility Workers
Lieutenant Aaron Turcotte, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety says Gorham Police Officers were called to 76 Longfellow Road on Tuesday for a report of possible deceased person. A group of utility workers told authorities they believed they had found skeletal remains.
Officials Will Now Try to Identify the Deceased
Once the police arrived on the scene, they notified the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South to assist in the investigation. The remains have been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta, where officials will try to identify the deceased and determine what caused their death.
Gorham and State Police Continue to investigate this incident.
