GOBankingRates analyzed U.S. Census Bureau income data for towns in each state with between 500 and 15,000 households to find the wealthiest small communities. Alaska was excluded from the report due to insufficient data, and the towns were ranked from lowest to highest median income.

Alright, now that that’s out of the way, where in Maine can you find the richest small town? What’s there, and what’s its median income?

Again, according to the report from GOBankingRates highlighting ‘The Richest Small Town in Every State,’ the richest small town in Maine is Falmouth Foreside, a suburb within the town of Falmouth, with a median income of $175,248.

Falmouth Foreside’s median income of $175,248 places it in the middle of the range among the wealthiest small towns in the U.S.

According to GOBankingRates, Vermont’s richest small town, Shelburne, ranks the lowest at $96,976, while California’s Orinda tops the list at $248,984.
