A great way to spend Sunday would be to get out and enjoy your favorite state with the family!

Maine Residents Day is this Sunday, June 16th where all Maine residents have a day to visit their Maine State Parks and Historic Sites for free, such as Fort Knox in Prospect or Swan Lake in Swanville, just to name a few options.

It's a way the state can give back to the people who support one of our most valuable resources, it's land!

How can you get admitted for free?  Just drive on in with a vehicle bearing your State of Maine license plate.  It's that easy!

The day starts at 9 AM and goes until closing.

Now, there are some exceptions:

  • Acadia National Park
  • Allagash Wilderness Waterway (AWW)
  • Baxter State Park
  • the Maine Wildlife Park (IF&W)
  • Peacock Beach
  • Scarborough Beach
  • Swan Island (IF&W)
  • Penobscot River Corridor (PRC)
  • Penobscot Narrows Observatory in Prospect

Check out the State of Maine's 'Residents Day' page on their website for more information.
