Whelp, all good things come to an end—especially during March Madness.

It was a heck of a run for Maine native J.P. Estrella and his Tennessee Volunteers in this year’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. However, a run-in with the Michigan Wolverines ultimately left the Vols one win short of the Final Four.

J.P. Estrella and the Tennessee Vols' Season Finally Comes to an End

Estrella started and played well for the Vols. The Scarborough/South Portland native finished with 7 points and 7 rebounds in what would be the final game of his redshirt sophomore year. He wrapped up the tournament averaging 9.3 points and 6.5 rebounds.

It was a tremendous season for Estrella, who made major strides in his game to become one of the key players for Tennessee. In fact, his play was so strong over the last month that he worked his way into the starting lineup and never looked back. He also delivered some of the most epic slam dunks of the NCAA Tournament—not too shabby for a kid from Maine.
