We've been hearing about the obesity problem in America for years now. But nothing seems to be getting done about it.

According to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than seven in 10 U.S. adults aged 20 and older are either overweight or obese.

WalletHub.com just released their report on the fattest states in America and Maine is right up there.

The report cites lack of physical activity is a leading cause of obesity, along with genetics, sleeplessness and emotional instability. And with the winter months rapidly approaching the physical activity almost disappears completely for quite a few Mainers.

The website compared all 50 states and the District of Columbia across 29 key metrics. They looked at things like the share of obese and overweight population to sugary beverage consumption among adolescents to obesity related health care costs.

Our great state of Maine ranked 12th overall on WalletHub's report. Check out the full findings here.
