Maine State Police are investigating the death of a child who was found in the snow in Corinna.

A Corinna Family Originally Reported the 3-Year-Old Missing

The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office answered the initial 911 call just before 8:30 Sunday morning from a home on the Exeter Road in Corinna. Officials say the caller reported that her 3-year-old nephew was missing from the family residence. The child's father found him sometime later, a distance from the home in the snow outside. Police and EMS responded but the child succumbed to injuries officials say appear to be consistent with exposure to the elements.
