Popular Snack in Maine Announces Name Change
The parent company of this lunchbox staple has announced that changes are coming soon to this Pine Tree State favorite!

We love our snacks here in Maine, and one favorite has a special connection to our state. Whether it’s a treat after a hike or something to enjoy by the lake, Mainers are always ready for a snack.
So, which snack—loved by many here in Maine—is getting a name change?
According to a press release from the Campbell Soup Company on Wednesday, October 23rd, and a report from CNN, Pepperidge Farm is temporarily renaming Goldfish crackers.
Now that we know that, what exactly are they going to call Goldfish crackers?
In what’s being described as a "fun attempt to attract more adult snackers," Goldfish will be renamed "Chilean Sea Bass." Campbell Soup Company and Pepperidge Farm hope the sophisticated name will appeal to an older audience.
While the name change is quite dramatic, what’s happening to the product itself? Will "the snack that smiles back" still smile back?
Although the name has changed, the familiar Goldfish recipe and iconic look remain exactly the same. According to Campbell Soup Company, the rebranding is purely playful, without any changes to the product.
We love our seafood up here in Maine, but how long will we have to embrace this change?
The "Chilean Sea Bass"-branded Goldfish bags will only be sold online for one week. Traditional Goldfish bags are still available in stores across the country. What do you think about this change? We’d love to hear from you! Feel free to join the conversation by messaging us on the app.
