Maine has always had a strong love for country music, and that love has only grown since Bangor's waterfront became a top summer concert spot. Our Queen City of the East has turned into a must-visit for big names in country music. And one of the biggest names came to town on Thursday!

But this wasn’t just any regular date for a countrywide tour, Luke Combs made Bangor a special priority. But why?

Luke Combs returned to Bangor on August 22 for a make-up show after his original concert on September 3, 2022, was cut short. He had refunded fans that night due to throat issues that forced him to end the show early.

Combs kept his promise and came back to give his fans the full performance they missed, and Bangor was thrilled to see him back on stage.

Luke Combs’ return to Bangor featured two fantastic opening acts, Conner Smith and Hailey Whitters.

Both artists have a recognizable sound and have had hits on country radio that we got to enjoy on Thursday at the Waterfront. Conner Smith performed his song ‘Creek Will Rise,’ from his debut album ‘Smokey Mountains.’ Hailey Whitters brought her chart-climbing track ‘Everything She Ain’t,’ which was a big hit in late 2022 and most of 2023.

Luke Combs did what he always does—he took care of his fans.

Being a one-of-a-kind performer, Luke Combs brings his genuine personality to the stage every time. Unlike some artists who might seem like they’re playing a part, Luke’s authenticity shines through. His music reflects his kind, humble, and down-to-earth nature, which is exactly what fans see when he’s performing.

He played all the hits and had a great time on stage, making sure we had an even better time in the crowd.

We're already looking forward to his next visit, but with his recent stadium-filling tours, we're not holding our breath for it to be anytime soon. Either way, we'll be ready when he does return.
