Joey Chestnut finished second in the inaugural Saugus Wings Eating Competition at The Brook casino in Seabrook, New Hampshire on Saturday, July 11th.

It was his first competition since eating 66 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes to win his 18th Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest title at Coney Island, further extending his record as the event’s most successful champion.

James Webb won the competition after eating 7.77 pounds of wing meat in 10 minutes, narrowly defeating Chestnut, who consumed 7.54 pounds.

Chestnut told Manchester, New Hampshire-based WMUR that his strategy involved pinching and scooping meat from the wings while using his teeth to remove meat from the drumsticks.
