Maine State Police say the truck, owned by CNA Trucking of Fort Kent, was hauling logs on the Little Machias Road in Nashville Plantation at around 10:45 Monday morning.  The driver, 48-year-old Wayne Pelletier apparently heard the train whistle but was unable to stop in time.

The Eastern Maine Railway train out of St. John, New Brunswick, operated by 37-year-old Christopher LaBonte, struck the logging truck at the railroad crossing.

Police say the truck and trailer rolled over on to its side.  The train and three rail cars were knocked off the tracks. There was extensive damage to both.

Ashland ambulance, the Maine DEP, and railroad officials responded to the scene.

State Police say no one was injured in the crash.
