Mainers Show Off Their L.L. Bean Items Decades Old

L.L. Bean stuff lasts forever, and here's proof.

I recently took my L.L. Bean barn jacket to Goodwill. That got me thinking about just how well-made LL Bean products are. My LL Bean barn jacket had to have been at least 30 years old! It was in great shape - just not MY shape anymore. It was sad departing with such a memory-filled jacket.

Owning LL Bean clothing gives Mainers a sense of pride

When I got my first Beans barn jacket, I felt like a real Mainer. I wore that thing to anything and everything. I loved it. Here's where my brain got to thinking. If I had a Beans barn coat in pretty good shape, what do Mainers have from L.L. Bean that is old and they still use? One thing that is over thirty years old and still in great shape is my LL Bean hiking backpack.

Back in the day, I hiked a few mountains in Maine. I went and picked up this backpack from Beans. It's seen the top of Mount Washington and almost the top of Mount Katahdin. It's also seen a dozen mountains in between. Nowadays, this backpack is my carry-on for any flight I take. The zipper sticks a little, but I love this backpack so much.
