
Former WWE Star Johnny Dango Curtis Officially Retires
The Portland, Maine native and former WWE superstar Johnny Dango Curtis, often shortened to JDC, has retired from professional wrestling.
JDC—also known to many fans as Fandango during his time with WWE—has spent 27 years in the professional wrestling industry and has, without question, cemented himself as one of the most famous, if not the most famous, pro wrestlers to ever come out of our Pine Tree State.

On January 17th, 2026, at TNA Genesis in Garland at the Curtis Culwell Center, JDC wrestled his retirement match against Eddie Edwards.
Genesis was announced on October 12th, 2025, as the first TNA pay-per-view event of 2026, and on November 13th, 2025, JDC announced—following his recent marriage—that he would retire at the show.

On December 11th, 2025, JDC announced that he would face Edwards—someone he trained with under Killer Kowalski—in his retirement match.
JDC ultimately lost that match, paying tribute to wrestling legends who also went out in high-profile matches, including Terry Funk and John Cena.

And there you have it! Maine’s own JDC has officially retired from professional wrestling, calling it a career at TNA’s Genesis show on January 17th, 2026.
