Did John Travolta Pull His Maine Mansion From the Market or Did It Finally Sell?
In February of 2021, superstar actor John Travolta made international headlines when he listed his Islesboro, Maine, home for sale.
Despite the attention, the $5 million dollar price tag proved to be too pricey for potential buyers during the pandemic. By late 2021, it appeared Travolta had either quietly sold the property or removed the listing altogether.
According to Daily Mail UK, Travolta was spotted vacationing over the holidays at the enormous estate with his children, leading to speculation that he hadn't sold the Islesboro property, but rather pulled it from the market.
Just a couple of months later, the property at 299 Drexel Lane was once again re-listed by Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty by Brian Wickenden. Similar to late 2021, the link now leads to a dead end, meaning Travolta's house has either sold or has been pulled from the market.
When it was active, the listing highlights the home as being built in 1903 and having an incredible waterfront view. There are 20 bedrooms and three floors of luxury living, and yes, it's got an in-ground pool.
Architectural Digest took a tour of the place all the way back in 1999. In the article, Travolta highlights the journey of first purchasing the property and setting up the home for his family.
More than six months after re-listing the property again in 2022, the massive mansion was still sitting on the market with the same price tag of $5,000,000 dollars. Did someone finally meet the high price demand, or is Travolta rethinking selling the property?
If you missed it the first, second, or third time around, let's take a tour of the sprawling estate.
