John Cote Sworn In as New Chief of the Maine State Police
The new Chief of the Maine State Police was sworn in to office Monday in the Governor’s cabinet room.
John Cote is a 29 year veteran, and spent most of his career in Aroostook County. He was Troop F’s commanding officer in Houlton, served as deputy chief for the past two years, and worked many years as a Detective-Sergeant investigating homicides. He is from China, Maine.
A roomful of family and co-workers attended the ceremony. Cote’s 82-year-old father, Morris Cote of Houlton, pinned on the new Chief’s badge.
