Jessica Meir’s Thanksgiving Feast Comes from a Pouch
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Caribou native, Jessica Meir, is feasting on “turkey in a pouch” for Thanksgiving on the International Space Station.
Meir said that for her the holiday is “all about family” so she’s thinking of folks down on earth on Thursday.
She and fellow astronauts Christina Koch and Andrew Morgan on Wednesday showed off their bagged vegetables and potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corned bread dressing, and smoked turkey. They also have a can of cranberry sauce.
Koch, who joined Meir on the first all-women spacewalk, said the group will try to stuff some cookies into a packet of candied yams to create something akin to pumpkin pie.
