According to LoveFood and their report highlighting ‘The Best Ice Cream Parlor in Every US State and DC,’ their pick for Maine is Gorgeous Gelato in Portland. Located at 434 Fore Street, LoveFood had the following to say about their selection:

Owned by Italian couple Mariagrazia Zanardi and Donato Giovine, who moved to Portland from Milan in 2011, Gorgeous Gelato is one of the top-rated dessert shops in the state.

LoveFood goes on to say that Gorgeous Gelato uses fresh, natural ingredients to make both vegan and dairy gelato in flavors like pistachio, hazelnut, and stracciatella.

Of course, Maine is packed with great ice cream spots like Fielder’s Choice, Gifford’s Famous Ice Cream, Jimmie’s Ice Cream and Grill, and honestly, way too many more to list.
