Former town Manager Eugene Conlogue submitted his letter of resignation last week.  The town council voted to accept his resignation, effective immediately, at a meeting on Monday evening.

After the council met last night, they voted to name Houlton Police Chief Butch Asselin as the interim town manager. Chief Asselin has interim town manager experience. He will fill the role until a suitable candidate is found for the position.

Conlogue spent 13 years as Millinocket’s town manager before he was hired in Houlton.

Members of the town council hope to have a new town manager in the next 90 to 120 days.
