The Fast Food Chains People Want in Northern Maine
It’s always nice to have more fast food and restaurant options in Northern Maine.
The County Wants More Fast Food
We talked to a lot of people and the consensus is we need some old chains back in the area and new places to open up too.
Nostalgic and New Restaurants
Diners said they want classic and nostalgic places that were here before and are now gone. Businesses that have never been here before are also welcome.
Regional and National Chains
Mainers love regional and national options. Here are the top 5 fast food chains wanted in Aroostook County.
Bonanza
Bonanza was a favorite for everyone. The restaurant in Presque Isle was a go-to for many families over the years. It brings back a lot of memories and nostalgia. The food was great and the atmosphere was fun. Bringing back a regional chain like Bonanza is what people want.
Friendly’s
Friendly’s was another regional chain in New England. It also brings back memories of growing up in Maine. The vibe was family-friendly and the big meals were always followed with one of their signature ice creams.
Burger King
Burger King - bring it back. The stores closed down in the County several years ago. People miss the perfect Whopper. The chain is a fixture across the country, but there are no locations in the area. A good, clean, prosperous Burger King is the fast food fix we need in Northern Maine.
Wendy’s
Wendy’s needs to be here. Remember the salad bar and the sun room? Who can forget the delicious square burgers - and always a frosty. The chain is popular around the U.S. with no locations in Aroostook County.
Chick-fil-A
Chick-fil-A is the one place everyone agrees on. There has never been one in Northern Maine. The chain is a new wave of fast food with a variety of chicken and burgers you can’t find anywhere else. The restaurant would be huge in the County.
A Variety of Fast Food Wanted
There are so many more places to mention like Chipotle, Sonic or Panera. We want a variety of fast food in Northern Maine. Hopefully, we will see many of these chains opening in the area someday soon.
