Codiac Regional RCMP is warning all residents of Moncton, Dieppe, and Riverview that there has been an escalation in the number of complaints related to thefts from vehicles.

The incidents are happening in various neighbourhoods throughout Greater Moncton, typically during the overnight hours.

Residents are asked to do the following to help protect themselves against this type of crime:

• Lock your vehicles

• Remove all valuables including electronics, loose change and personal items

• Pay attention, particularly at night, to anyone suspicious in your neighbourhood and call police immediately at 857-2400 if you see something.

Police said, the most recent incidents happened on Saturday night, September 26, in the Fairview Knoll area of Moncton where 23 vehicles had their windows smashed and items stolen.

Codiac RCMP said, they are investigating these most recent incidents and also trying to determine if there is any connection to other thefts from vehicles that have occurred in the past couple of months.
