Say Goodbye to Eddie Bauer: Maine Stores Set to Shut Down
Many of us across the state of Maine have been hit with some bad news recently as it was announced that we must say goodbye to our beloved outdoor brand, Eddie Bauer.
They officially announced, as per Portland Press Herald, plans to close several Maine stores after a recent bankruptcy filing. This is leaving many of us shocked and sad.
This store has been a staple in Maine, founded more than a century ago and will now shut the doors of about 175 locations across the United States and Canada.
Sadly, Maine is on that list.
Which Maine Locations Are Eddie Bauer Closing?
Stores in Augusta, Kittery, and South Portland are all expected to close as part of this new restructuring plan that the company is working on, as per the report.
Eddie Bauer is a go-to spot for warm winter jackets, outdoor gear, and even our Maine traditional flannels.
We don’t know as of yet when the exact closing date will be but the news is showing yet another shift in the retail world, where long standing brand names have to close their doors due to rising costs and bankruptcy.
So for now, if you are a Eddie Bauer shopper, you may want to hop on over there to grab what you’d like.
