Sharks are in the news a lot lately. Maine and Canada are becoming more aware of sharks in our waters. In California, drones are being used to keep people safe. This is a great idea for us and all beaches.

These lifeguards at Seal Beach, California have the right idea. They're using drones to get a clear perspective on shark activity near the beach.

Sharks in Maine and Canada range from Bull sharks to Hammerheads. Great Whites are also present. This video shows an intense underwater encounter in Saco, Maine.

Sharks kill up to one person a year on average - whereas cows kill up to twenty people a year. It's the scary nature of a shark attack that gets people's attention and not the numbers.
