Dave Portnoy Reviews Pizza on a Maine Lobster Boat
Alright, so here we are again. Dave is back at it in Portland, reviewing the local pizza.
Dave Portnoy has continued his pizza quest in Portland, dishing out his unfiltered reviews of local pizzerias. As dedicated followers of the One Bite Pizza Review series know, it's all about that crucial first bite.
The routine is well-established: every weekday, Barstool Sports uploads a new pizza review on their One Bite Pizza Review YouTube channel, following the mantra, "One bite, everybody knows the rules." Dave "El Presidente" Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, shoulders the responsibility of sampling a different pizza establishment daily until he's covered the pizza landscape.
Having previously tasted slices from Monte’s Fine Foods and an OTTO location on Congress St., Dave turned towards Flatbread Company on Commercial St., nestled by the Old Port.
This review struck a chord with me, as Flatbread Company is a personal favorite of mine. Dave was content trying the pizza against the backdrop of the water, but then a passerby invited him onto their boat to give the review. And, of course, he was up for the adventure.
Although Flatbread Company didn't receive the same level of praise from Dave as some other reviewed locations, it won points for its picturesque ambiance, standing out as the most visually pleasing of the Portland pizza reviews thus far.
With the Portland pizza tour underway, the question remains: how many more One Bite Pizza Reviews are in store for Maine? I suppose only time will tell; however, he has me wanting to make a trip down south for some pizza sooner rather than later.
