Here are 5 little known truths about John Berry.
- He learned to play the guitar at the age of 12.
- His musical influences include James Taylor, Harry Chapin, and, his favorite, John Denver.
- In 1981, at age 19, while riding his motorcycle, he was hit by a car, breaking both of his legs and his left hip. Doctors were afraid he would never walk again. But after extensive rehab, he did.
- Early In 1994, he began to have terrible headaches, lost his appetite and finally blacked out during a concert. He was rushed to the hospital on May 9, 1994 in Atlanta, where a cyst was found in the third ventricle of his brain. It was removed.
- In 1997, he had surgery again for nodes on his vocal cords.
