• He was born on November 20, 1975 in Phoenix, Arizona.
• At the age of 13, he taught himself to play guitar, and played mostly the rock songs his friends listened to, until a friend played him a Hank Williams, Jr. song, called "Man to Man."
• When he was 19, he moved to Nashville, where he got a job with The Nashville Network (now Spike TV), researching country music performances.
• He played nights at various venues all over town, and recorded a demo, which lead to a songwriting deal.
• His musical influences include George Jones, Hank Williams Jr. and Del McCoury Band.
